The root of the matter — old patterns, decisions, and events that led here.
Position 2
Present
Where you actually stand now, including what you may not be admitting.
Position 3
Future
The likely outcome of the current path, and what it would take to change it.
How to read it
The gap between Past and Present is where the story hides. Compare the two — what changed, what repeated? The Future card is the loudest clue about whether you're on a cycle or a chapter. If you don't like the Future card, read Present again: that's the one lever you can actually move.
A Different Way to Read This Spread
This spread has a hidden fourth position: the gap between Past and Present, which is where you actually live. The Past card names the pattern; the Present names what you're doing with it; the Future is only a trajectory — and the one lever the spread actually gives you is the Present. You can't argue with the past card, but you don't have to keep it.
